SUNDAY SHORTS-TACULAR: Azureus Rising
Another wonderful short, this time of a certain type we see repeatedly; the concept. Whether its testing some new processor or other hardware, some bit of lighting, water modeling, or other piece of software, or testing out the character itself as a design concept, these are a surprisingly numerous bunch of animated shorts.
One supposes that animation puts a particular artistic and technical strain on so many different factors involved that of course animation is a wonderful place to showcase off such wonderful eye candy as this. Ladies and gentleman, enjoy this striking bit of cyberpunk innercity anti-authoritian uber parkour, Azuereus Rising.

Food Review: The Double Down
There are a lot of unique foods in this town... not "gross out" foods but unique ones... I had to get a double down for the "scared silly" review, so I thought I might as well do a food review of it. I'd like to make these a more regular feature.

SUNDAY SHORTS-TACULAR: Sintel
Hey, This is going to be another feature here at The Cartoonatic: Every Sunday we're going to highlight an animated short film to show off the potentials of the medium unhindered by excess. You're going to be amazed what's going on in the world of short animation, and this entry, Sintel, is an AMAZING place to start. I could rant about the quality of the story and animation (you know I could), but you'll see; it speaks for itself.

About this blog
The defender of all things cartoons, and of animation as an art form, The Cartoonatic is here to ridicule the bad, marvel at the insanity, awe at the awesome and be moved by the moving. Who thought The Phantom of the Opera needed a cartoon? How could human-shark hybrids NOT be radical? What madman decided on superpowered pogs? And how beautiful is it to see fairy tales fall in love? The Cartoonatic will find out.
